Horse gram chutney is healthy recipe,which helps in weight loss.It is easy to cook and tastes delicious.Try to have horse gram chutney once in a week it has many health benefits.This recipe has simple and basic ingredients.
This is my mom’s recipe,it tastes too good.It goes well with white rice ,add 1/2 tsp of gingelly oil it will enrich the taste.
I have shown you step by step pictorial recipe.Now lets look into the horse gram chutney recipe.
Soak 1 cup of horse gram in water for 20 min
- Horse gram
- Coriander seeds
- Cumin seeds
- Red chilli
- Mustard seeds

- Take one cup of soaked horse gram in a cooker and add water as required and cook for 5-6 whistles
- Filter the cooked horse gram and collect water which we can use while grinding
- Saute 1 tsp of coriander powder,1/2 tsp cumin seeds,1/2 tsp pepper,2-3 red chilli in pan and keep them aside
- In same pan heat some oil and add 5-6 shallots and 3 garlic cloves and cool them completely
- In a mixer jar add the spices,onion,garlic(saute) 2 raw onion,garlic ,cooked horse gram,and water used for cooking ,required salt and grind it
- For seasoning add mustard seeds in oil and add to chutney
- Horse gram chutney is ready serve it with white rice.
Cook horse gram for 5 whistles
Collect water separately
Saute the spices
Cook onion and garlic
Take it in mixer jar
Add cooked horse gram
grind to this texture
Add the seasoning
Horse gram is ready
