Chicken gravy – South Indian style curry

Country chicken gravy is a very easy but tasty curry goes well with dosa,idli,rice and roti. Especially i love this curry with idli. I have given you the recipe of south Indian style recipe with basic ingredients at home. It takes only 30 min to cook. I have used country chicken which is good for health when compared to other chicken. I have also given step by step pictorial recipe. So now lets look into the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Country Chicken (1/2 kg)
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Curry leaves
  • Chicken masala
  • Curry masala
  • Coriander powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Oil
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Cardamom
  • Fennel seeds
  • Star anise
  • Cloves
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • salt
  • Coriander and mint leaves
  • Coconut

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add 10 shallots, 1 chopped tomato and some curry leaves and cook for 5 min
  2. Let it cool and take it in a mixer jar
  3. Add pinch of turmeric powder, 3 tsp of coriander powder, 3 tsp of curry masala, and 3 tsp of chicken masala and grind it well
  4. Heat cooker and add some oil
  5. Add 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cardamom , 2 cloves ,1 star anise and some fennel seeds
  6. Add half kg of chicken pieces
  7. Add ginger garlic paste
  8. Add the grind mixture and add water as required
  9. Add salt and handful of mint and coriander leaves
  10. Close the cooker and let it cook for 5-6 whistle
  11. Once pressure releases add some coconut paste and let it cook for 2 min.Your chicken curry is ready

Masala paste is ready

Heat cooker and add some oil. Add 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cardamom , 2 cloves ,1 star anise and some fennel seeds

Add half kg of country chicken

Add a spoon of ginger garlic paste

Add the grained mixture paste

Add water as required and add salt

Add handful of fresh mint and coriander leaves and cover the cooker and let it cook for 5-6 whistles.

Once it is cooked and pressure releases add coconut paste and cook for 5 min

Your chicken curry is ready.Serve it hot with idlies
